In 2011 we designed, fabricated, and in December 2011 commissioned a new Boat Lift.

Great effort has gone into its design and development. It took us more than a year from the idea to the overall finish of the construction, followed by a few required modifications and improvements over the first year of its operation.

In designing the Boat Lift we put special emphasis on:

  • Environmental consideration when undertaking cleaning & antifouling activities. Traditional slipways make it almost impossible to collect waste - we wanted to eliminate this restriction - we did not want any liquid or solid waste to enter the waterway. At all. We targeted to avoid submerging moving and therefore greased parts, and also to decrease the level of noise from operation - we wanted it to be quiet.
  • Capacity and efficiency. We wanted it to be capable of handling wider vessels, to be suitable for any type of boat, to be safer and more convenient to work on than a traditional slipway rail and cradle. We needed increased vessel lifting capacity. We wanted vessel retrieval and re-launch to be easier for the staff, and more gentle on the boat.
  • Economy. We wanted the lift to be price competitive, so we were mindful of the overall investment.

We succeeded in achieving all these objectives, and we are extremely proud of this innovation.

Due to our effort the Marina now boasts a different repair facility - a boat lift that is able to lift extra wide multi hull vessels and that is far more gentle on boats than the usual slipway.

Our boat lifting facility is an air dock 10 m by 15 m, providing safe and convenient access to underwater areas of vessel, and capable of slipping vessels to 9.5m (31') in Beam, 15m (49') in Length, and 12t in Weight.
